Yes we're on on Tuesday 20th December and Tuesday 4th January. We only close for one Tuesday (27th December) between Christmas and the New Year.

The Friends Life Group stays open during holidays when schools and colleges are closed. Last year the Tuesday group only closed between Christmas and New Year while the Friday group closed on Good Friday as well. |

SARANJIT BIRDI IN EXHIBITION @ CUSTARD FACTORY
Unfortunately due to the riots the exhibition has
been cancelled. It has been re-scheduled for November. Watch this space for updates!
Saranjit will present life drawings and video documentation from drawing sessions held at the Friends Institute and the MAC. In these works he expresses his passion for draughtsmanship, the brevity of line to explain form and character. Many of our regulars will recognise themselves in some of the drawings.
The other artists joining him in the exhibition are painter Penny Mason and multi media artist Wendy Smith.

Tuesday Group
All attenders of the Tuesday group, we want to get your work up on Flickr to help promote you and promote the group. Please email your work to friendslifestudy@gmail.com or bring it in on a Tuesday evening during the Summer so it can be photographed while there's good light.
Emailed pictures should preferably be at least 1024 pixels in the longer direction so it can be viewed at it's best in Flickr's large size. You can send emails (with attachments) of up to 20 megabytes.
We would like to include some of your life studies from the Tuesday group along with some of your other Art, so surfers can get a good idea of what you as an Artist as well do as what we do as a group. Pictures will go up "all rights reserved" by default, though we can change the copyright settings at your request.
...and now 
Unfortunately we have a problem with permissions on Flickr regarding nudity as they have strict guidlines which don't differentiate between pgotography and other media such as drawing or between what is and isn't Art. We got pulled up and I had to recategorise all the images according to their guidelines which means that you have to be logged in as a Flicr member to view a lot of the work.
To get round this for the slideshow I've taken out a Picasa account and uploaded a more selective range of pictures to it. The Flickr remains for now, but I'm investigating the best options and unfortunately I can't see us taking out a Flickr Pro account now, which in an ideal world would have been the best option. WATCH THIS SPACE...
